I am writing to highly recommend the DJ services of Derek Learmonth. Derek acted as MC and DJ for our wedding reception, and was put in charge of ensuring that the evening ran smoothly and that our guests were entertained. He went above and beyond in his duties and we were very pleased with the evening.
Derek provided us with a great selection of music and was able to read the crowd and adjust the music style accordingly. This, plus his amazing personality, resulted in a full and energized dance floor and people having a great time. He was very professional, was able to keep on schedule effectively, and was flexible to schedule adjustments. After the reception was completed, many of our friends and family members offered positive comments on Derek’s performance. It was a great night.
Thank you to Derek for the amazing job that he did at our wedding! From the coordination of the sound system outside in the wind for the ceremony to the killer Basketball announcer voice over when introducing the Wedding Party, Derek was spot on! The entire evening ran smoothly thanks to Derek’s attention to detail. His openness to have guest requests played made for an amazing party. All of our guests commented through the night and the following weeks that the music and party was perfect!

Thank you Derek for acting as MC and DJ for our wedding. You kept the floor jumping! You were professional and accommodating and managed to play our requests, even when all you had to go off of was a lyric. We both commented that, of all the previous weddings we have attended, you were the best DJ by far! And thank you for your suggestion of the “shoe game” It was a hit and had everyone laughing.
We hired Derek to DJ our wedding. He was great to meet with before to discuss how we wanted the day to go. He was very professional and easy to deal with. We were also impressed with how he kept the dance floor packed, it was awesome to see everyone having such a great time. We will definitely keep Derek in mind for future events and strongly recommend him to family and friends.
First of all, our friends and family could not stop raving about the wonderful DJ. We had such a wide range of guests and you nailed it! Also, we had many very specific requests throughout the night and you never let us down. From the ceremony, dinner, and all through the reception you did a fantastic job! I was introduced to Derek by a colleague of mine when I was looking for someone to help me with a video presentation for my daughter’s bridal shower. I contacted Derek and we chatted about what I was looking for and some ideas I had. My copies were not digital so Derek was going to have to scan everything before he even started to put the presentation together and yes there were a lot of pictures. I met with him briefly one morning at his office and literally dumped all my pictures, song choices and details on his desk. About three days later Derek gave me a call to come have a look at what he had put together. Of course being Italian I am somewhat of an emotional sort and it is difficult to express how I felt while watching what he had produced. Needless to say there were tears by the end of the show. He captured many of my ideas but also used his artistic flare and technical experience to enhance the video. The video was a huge hit at the shower and not a dry eye in the house. My daughter couldn’t have been more thrilled to have such a wonderful keepsake.
After showing the video to her fiance there was no two ways about it we needed to have one for the wedding. Under a short deadline (I’m sorry again) Derek created more magic and produced a video appropriate for the wedding. It was a huge hit!!! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Derek’s work to anyone, you won’t be disappointed. Derek, thanks again for helping add that extra touch to Kayla and Joe’s wedding celebration.
Amazing day and amazing DJ, Derek kept the multi-generation crowd on the dance-floor for the whole evening, with a great mix of old and new music – as we had discussed ahead of the event. The pre-wedding questionnaire and discussions made sure our musical interests were aligned and the dance floor was full as a result! Thanks Derek!
